Taratata

When Hasselt based restaurant Taratata moved to a new location after 16 years we decided to do it the Taratata way, meaning with their signature original, witty and warm approach. So we got to work!

While me and their designer and webmaster Bram from Paperfish worked behind the scenes to set up phase two of the plan, the Taratata staff put their backs into phase one. In the last weeks before the closing they took polaroid pictures of their lovely customers and asked them to write a message on a post-it. Loyal customers, employees, family, close friends and suppliers were asked to fill out a little questionnaire about their favorite restaurant.

After that, phase two was ignited! The final week before the closing we put up a message on the window of the restaurant saying Taratata was moving a couple of hundred meters away in a few of weeks. We completed the window with the sweet messages and polaroids and turned their website into a temporary blog where the questionnaires of the habitués were posted. We also set up communications on their socials, newsletter and sent out a press release.

Dominque and Christophe were delighted to bring a positive and visual message about their big step. But probably the most heartwarming for them was to be able to thank their loyal customers for they year long support by giving them a face.

Enter phase 3: the actual move to their brand new location, which was marvelous by the way. We approached the communications a bit more classical this time, meaning via socials, newsletters and a press release, but never without the warm and humorous Taratata touch.

Now, 6 years later, Dominique and Christophe packed their bags, dog and kids, left the restaurant in the capable hands of their sous-chef Tom and his wife Nele and started a new adventure, a B&B and glamping site, in sunny Spain. Adios y buena suerte amigo’s!
