BKRK-award 2025 Raw Materials

Ten editions! For its anniversary, the BKRK-award went back to the source with raw materials, and the earth they come from.

We launched the call in October 2024. In January, an online talk with three finalists from the previous edition gave new candidates a taste of what to expect. After the first jury moment in April, the ten selected talents met the jury and experts at a meet & greet in May. A summer of one-on-one coaching followed.

This edition also got its own magazine, with interviews with jury members, experts and participants. In September the jury chose the finalists. On 14 October 2025, we closed the trajectory with a festive final event, moderated by Xavier Taveirne.

Winner

Frederik Rombach – R-series

With the R-series, Rombach developed a modular lighting system made entirely from recycled glass. Each component is hand-blown in their Rero Glass workshop, the only glassblowing studio in Europe that exclusively works with recycling streams, such as car windows, bottle glass, and flat glass.

Finalists

Dries Truyers – CorkCycle

Jielt Gregoire – Custom Work in Clay
